Your Cub's first weeks

Your Cub's first few fun-filled weeks will be spent making friends and joining in with Pack activities. They are welcome to take part in all of the activities offered, including any camps, hikes and visits.

New Cubs will not require uniform until their investiture, they should simply be comfortably dressed in suitable activity clothes. Beaver Scouts moving up should wear their Beaver Scout uniform until their investiture.

New Cubs are allocated to a six during their first week so that they can settle in quickly with help from experienced Sixers and Seconders and have someone to help them find their feet.

Investiture will usually happen after approximately six weeks. Parents, Carers and family are encourage to attend and share this important event. During their investiture new Cub Scouts make their promise and formally join the Scouting movement.

The uniform your Cub will need consists of a Cub Scout jumper and activity trousers. The Group will provide a necker, badges and a woggle coloured to match their six name. Some second-hand uniform is available, please ask the Pack leaders for more information.

The Pack leadership team are always happy to discuss any queries or issues you or your Cub may have both before they join the section and once they have started.
