Our Colonies

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family for boys and girls aged 6 to 8. We offer a fun filled programme of activities and crafts from treasure hunts, canal walks and making dragons to brainiac science, team games and exploring the countryside. Most importantly our Beaver Scouts have fun and make friends.

Here at the 8th Alton we have two active Beaver Colonies, Greenfields and Wooteys. Each colony has around 20 young members. Beaver Scouts are easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise jumpers and group necker.Beaver Scouts are grouped in lodges named after wild birds. Older Beaver Scouts can become lodge leaders and help run the colony.

Our Beaver Scout Colonies also enjoy sleepovers and Beaver and Parent camps and have a range of badges and awards to achieve.

The Wooteys Colony meets on Tuesdays at 18:00 to 19:15 and the Greenfields Colony meets on Thursdays at the same times.
